All submissions undergo initial editorial, technical, and similarity screening before peer review. Additional AI-assisted content review may be used where applicable.
Every submitted manuscript is screened for textual similarity against published scholarly literature, online sources, and other available content before it is considered for peer review. The purpose of this screening is to identify potential overlap, duplication, or plagiarism and to ensure compliance with the journal’s publication ethics standards.
Manuscripts exceeding the journal's acceptable similarity threshold are returned to the corresponding author for revision, or rejected outright in cases of extensive or unattributed overlap.
As a general guideline, an overall similarity score exceeding 20%—after excluding references, properly quoted material, and standard methodological or technical phrasing—triggers additional editorial assessment before a manuscript may proceed to peer review. Similarity scores are evaluated in context, and editorial decisions are based on the nature and significance of the overlapping text rather than on the numerical score alone.
Similarity screening is conducted using industry-standard plagiarism detection software and related editorial screening tools. The journal may update the specific software platform used from time to time; information regarding the tool currently in use may be provided to authors and editors upon reasonable request.
Where applicable, submissions may also be screened for undisclosed use of AI-generated text, consistent with our AI Policy.
